How we got to this point…by Emily LaFeve

We had both been single for some time and were pretty independent, he had been focused on his career and me on my Masters Degree. A mutual friend had introduced us, months went by before he had the nerve to ask me out. ๐Ÿ™‚ We went to lunch a few times a week and found out how easy it was to talk to one another. We never really looked too deeply into ‘what would happen next’, the relationship just progressed so naturally. Quickly, we were spending every moment together and when my lease was up on my condo he asked me to move in with him. Although I was scared, things worked themselves right into place with very little effort on either of our part. Everyone assumed that it was only a matter of time before we got engaged. We were walking back from a festival in Kalamazoo and passed a jewelry store. He mentioned that he had no idea what I would even like. I took him in to just show him the style and before I knew it the sales person had a ring on my finger. We designed the ring together and I knew it would be a matter of time before he gave it to me. On our year and a half year anniversary we woke up and he had a painting that my sister had put together. It was a heart with the words, love, life, and friendship in it. He told me that I was his best friend, he was in love with me, and wanted to start our lives together. ๐Ÿ™‚
